Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (you can also use ground pork or a mix of beef and pork)

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 carrot, grated

1 celery stalk, finely chopped

1 can (14 oz / 400g) crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil

12 oz (340g) spaghetti

Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Preparation

Cook the Pasta:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.

  3. Drain the cooked spaghetti and set aside.


Prepare the Bolognese Sauce:
