I'm Angela Bruce, the founder of My Creative LifeStyle, and I believe that some of life's greatest pleasures come from the simplest things, growing something from a seed, preserving a seasonal harvest, creating something beautiful with your hands, or sharing knowledge that has been passed down through generations.
​
What started as a personal passion has grown into a creative lifestyle business, a homestead, a little shop in historic Cullinan, and an online community of people who share a love for learning, making and living creatively.
The Heart Behind My Creative LifeStyle
My story began on a fruit and vegetable farm in Lows Creek, near Barberton.
Growing up surrounded by nature and the rhythm of farm life, I learned the importance of hard work, resourcefulness and making
the most of what was available.

Nothing was wasted. Seasonal fruit and vegetables were preserved, bottled,
dried or frozen, and our kitchen was always filled with wonderful homemade food.
My love for creativity began just as early.
At nine years old, my mother taught me to crochet. My Aunt Ella later introduced me to the beautiful art of fine cotton crochet, teaching me the importance of tension, technique, patience and good workmanship.
Little did I know that those early lessons would eventually become part of a much bigger dream.
Over the years, I continued developing my skills in cooking, baking, preserving, crochet, knitting, sewing and countless creative projects.

Today, more than five decades after picking up my first crochet hook, I am still learning, experimenting, creating and, most importantly, sharing what I know.
For me, creativity has never been just a hobby.
​
It is a way of life.
Life at Our Homestead
Our homestead is where many of the ideas behind My Creative LifeStyle begin.
From the fruit trees and vegetable garden to our chickens and much-loved rescue parrots, every day brings something different.
Our garden provides seasonal inspiration for the kitchen, while our chickens bring their own personalities and daily adventures to The Clucking Cottage.
Our rescue parrots hold a particularly special place in our hearts. Having cared for and rehabilitated many parrots over the years, I remain passionate about responsible animal care and sharing what these remarkable birds have taught me.
Life on the homestead is not always perfect, but that is part of its beauty.
There is always something new to discover, a challenge to overcome or a lesson to learn.
From Our Hands to Your Home
Much of what you will find at My Creative LifeStyle begins with an idea, a seasonal harvest or a desire to create something useful and beautiful.

Our small-batch creations include homemade preserves, jams, marmalades, relishes, baked treats, handcrafted soaps, crochet and knitted items, and many other handmade products.
​
We believe in taking pride in our work, paying attention to detail and creating products that reflect genuine care and craftsmanship.
​
Through our online shop and our little store in Cullinan, we have the opportunity to share these creations with others.
Learning, Creating and Sharing
One of my greatest pleasures has always been helping others learn something new.
I believe traditional skills deserve to be preserved, practised and passed on to future generations.
​
Whether it is learning to crochet correctly, understanding a new stitch, preserving seasonal fruit or discovering a practical homesteading technique, knowledge becomes so much more valuable when it is shared.
This belief is also the inspiration behind our developing Creative Crochet Academy, where I hope to share decades of experience through structured lessons, practical guidance and a strong emphasis on quality workmanship.
My goal is not simply to show someone how to make something.
​
It is to help them understand what they are doing, develop confidence in their abilities and take pride in what they create.
What We Believe
At My Creative LifeStyle, we believe in creating with purpose, making the most of what nature provides and appreciating skills that have stood the test of time.
We value quality over quantity, creativity over waste, compassion for animals, continuous learning and the satisfaction of doing something well.
We do not believe that everything needs to be perfect before it can be meaningful.
Sometimes the greatest satisfaction comes from trying something new, learning from the experience and enjoying the journey.
