Their crispy edges and tender centers make them irresistible, even to those who may not typically enjoy Brussels sprouts. So, get ready to elevate this underrated vegetable to a star-worthy status on your dining table!

Ingredients

1 500g Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, balsamic glaze, or chopped crispy bacon for serving

Preparation

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare Brussels Sprouts:

  • Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half lengthwise.

Toss with Seasonings:

  • In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Roast Brussels Sprouts:

  • Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut side down if possible. This allows for better caramelization.

  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through for even cooking.

Optional Additions:

  • If desired, sprinkle the roasted Brussels sprouts with grated Parmesan cheese immediately after removing them from the oven. The heat will melt the cheese slightly.

  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze for a sweet and tangy flavor, or top with chopped crispy bacon for added texture and savory goodness.

Serve:

  • Transfer the roasted Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and serve them hot as a delicious side dish or appetizer.

These roasted Brussels sprouts are a wonderful addition to any meal, offering a balance of savory flavors and crispy textures. They're perfect for holiday gatherings, weeknight dinners, or whenever you're craving a tasty and nutritious vegetable dish. Enjoy!
