Ingredients

1 cup extra virgin olive oil

4-5 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

Preparation

In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat until it reaches about 180°F (82°C).

  1. Add the crushed garlic cloves to the oil.

  2. Let the garlic infuse in the oil over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the oil to cool to room temperature.

  4. Strain the oil through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the garlic pieces.

  5. Transfer the infused oil to a clean glass bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid.

  6. Store the garlic-infused olive oil in a cool, dark place. It can be used for cooking, drizzling over dishes, or as a flavorful base for dressings and marinades.
