The ingredients are simple yet effective, creating a perfect balance of flavors that complement a wide range of meats such as chicken, pork, or beef. Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, and basil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that soy sauce is already salty, so go easy on the salt at first and adjust later if needed.
Place your choice of meat (such as chicken breasts, pork chops, or beef steak) in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the meat, making sure it's completely covered. If using a plastic bag, seal it tightly after removing excess air.
Refrigerate the meat in the marinade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate. For best results, marinate for several hours or overnight.
When ready to cook, remove the meat from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade.
Grill, bake, or cook the marinated meat according to your recipe or preference.
