Cooking cabbage with garlic, butter, and a touch of seasoning creates a tender, slightly caramelized texture with a delicious depth of flavor. This versatile dish can be served as a side, added to stir-fries, or used as a filling for wraps and tacos.

Ingredients
Ingredients:
1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
Fresh parsley or dill for garnish (optional)
Preparation
Remove any tough outer leaves, cut the cabbage in half, remove the core, and thinly slice.
In a large skillet, melt butter or heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and stir to coat with the butter or oil.
Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage softens and turns slightly golden.
Add apple cider vinegar or lemon juice for a fresh, tangy finish.
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm as a side dish or mix into other meals.
This sautéed cabbage pairs beautifully with roasted meats, mashed potatoes, or even rice dishes. Enjoy its simplicity and comforting taste!
