Typically, a green salad is composed of a base of these leafy greens, which provide a crisp and crunchy texture along with a range of vitamins and minerals. The greens are often complemented by a variety of colorful and flavorful additions.

Ingredients

Mixed salad greens (such as lettuce, spinach, arugula, or any greens of your choice)

Cucumber, sliced

Cherry tomatoes, halved

Red onion, thinly sliced

Yellow peppers

Avocado, diced

Feta cheese, crumbled (optional)

Balsamic vinaigrette or dressing of your choice

Preparation


  1. Wash the salad greens thoroughly and pat them dry or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed greens, sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, and diced avocado.

  3. If using, sprinkle crumbled feta cheese over the salad.

  4. Drizzle the desired amount of balsamic vinaigrette or your favorite salad dressing over the salad ingredients

  5. Gently toss the salad to coat the ingredients evenly with the dressing.

  6. Serve immediately as a refreshing side dish or add protein like grilled chicken or tofu to make it a complete meal.
